Ethics
Our ethics code is simple, short, and based on first person view.
First person view means that the statements are described as declarations using “I” as
the perspective from which the statement is made.
We have three perspectives: 1) I’m a manager, 2) I’m an employee, 3) I’m the company.
Craftsman Path
As we are a company that makes wooden products, craftsmanship is essential to being successful. Our core focus is thus on developing craftsman and a craftsman culture. What is a craftsman? A craftsman is a person who truly excels in the knowledge and skill of woodworking; the material, the machines, the processes, and the products. A craftsman is also somebody who has an outcome-based pride, not a position-based pride, somebody who is always looking to improve upon perfection.
Expert path
Experts support the craftsman and organization in creating a seamless and frictionless environment. From making sure that material is available to material handling and storage, from making sure that the right spare parts are available to maintaining machines, from hiring talent to managing financial flows.
Leadership path
Leaders/managers facilitate and coach craftsman and experts in creating high quality products and a seamless and frictionless environment. Setting direction, translating that direction to practical strategy maps, and inspiring people is one part. Another part is practical day to day management, facilitating and coaching people, and removing any barriers that might block progress. Leadership is something that gets the most attention, but good old fashioned management is important as well. Most people know what leadership is, but believe it or not, there is no word like this to embody management. That is why we added a new word to our vocabulary: “managementship”.
